Soy profesor asociado del Departamento de
Ciencias de la Computación de la Facultad de Ciencias Físicas
y Matemáticas
de la
Universidad de Chile,
donde trabajo desde 1986. Obtuve el grado de
Magister en Ciencias,
mención Computación
en la Universidad de Chile en 1987, y el
Doctorado en Technischen Wissenschaften an der
Eidgenoessischen Technischen Hochschule,
Zuerich (ETH-Zuerich), Suiza en marzo de 1993.
Mi área principal de interés es Modelamiento Geométrico, en particular
la generación de mallas en dos y tres dimensiones, analisis de imagenes y programación orientada
a objetos.
Research Areas.
My research area includes the design and implementation of
algorithms for the generation of 2-D and 3-D triangulations
and
mixed element meshes in the context of the
finite element and control volume discretization methods. The developed
meshing tools must follow good object oriented practices. I'm also very
interested in applying computational geometry
algorithms in science and
engineering applications.
I belong to the Model and Transformation Engineering research group
Mate.
I am also currently involved in
the projects: BAVI and PLOMO.
